In a milestone moment for his creative journey, Malaysian doodle artist and creative director Kendrick Ng, known as Kendylife, presents his first-ever anniversary exhibition in his home state of Sabah. Titled “Lines That Became Stories”, the exhibition celebrates 20 years of artistic exploration, growth, and storytelling.

The exhibition was officially launched today in a ceremony attended by invited guests, including supporters, friends, and family. Sabah State Assembly deputy speaker Datuk Al Hambra Juhar, who is also passionate about creative works, was present to officiate the event.

Hailing from Tenom, Kendylife’s journey began from a small town with big dreams. A graduate of Kian Kok Middle School Sabah, his early years laid the foundation for a creative path that would eventually take him far beyond local borders.

While Kendylife has steadily built his presence beyond Sabah, with showcases, collaborations, and appearances across Peninsular Malaysia and internationally in Singapore, the Philippines, Australia, the United Kingdom, and beyond, this exhibition marks a deeply personal homecoming. Bringing his work back to where it all began reflects both a sense of gratitude and a desire to give back to the local creative community.

The exhibition is hosted at Tinggi Tinggi Creative Hub, a space Kendylife describes as a meaningful and fitting venue for this milestone.

“To finally have my first major exhibition in Sabah, surrounded by a community that understands and supports creative growth, is something I’m truly thankful for,” he shares.

“Lines That Became Stories” will showcase a wide range of works spanning two decades, from early sketches and self-published zines to collaborative projects and refined visual narratives. More than a retrospective, the exhibition aims to spark dialogue and inspire the next generation of creatives.
