Behind its doors lies a story deeply woven into the soul of the community. The restaurant’s iconic cleaver-shaped door handle stands as a bold artistic tribute to Foh Sang’s colourful history. Once known for its turbulent past, the symbol has now been transformed into an emblem of strength, unity, and evolution. Under the vision of owner Jordan Chin, what was once associated with hardship now welcomes guests into an atmosphere of warmth, sophistication, and celebration.

Adding to the restaurant’s distinctive identity is its treasured homemade Lihing, lovingly crafted by Jordan’s 85-year-old grandmother, affectionately known within the Kadazan community as “Aunty Mi.” Her traditional rice wine carries generations of heritage in every pour, blending authenticity with timeless craftsmanship.

Among the many signature highlights presented, the handcrafted Lihing emerged as the crown jewel of the experience. Its remarkable depth, smooth character, and cultural richness left an unforgettable impression on every guest at the table.

Grub and Vine is not merely a restaurant. It is where heritage meets modern elegance, where stories are poured into every glass, and where the spirit of Sabah is beautifully reimagined through food, culture, and hospitality.
