An evening of meaningful conversation and shared aspirations unfolded during a special dinner gathering with YB Dato Hanifah Hajar Taib, organised by the Sabah Women Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Association (IKSNITA) under the leadership of Datuk Hajah Dayang Khatijah Datu Haji Bachtiyal.
The gathering reflected the growing importance of continued engagement between government leaders and non-governmental organizations in shaping stronger communities through women empowerment, entrepreneurship development, welfare initiatives, and public health awareness.

In today’s evolving social landscape, such collaborations have become increasingly essential in ensuring that development reaches communities not only through policy, but through genuine grassroots connection.
Particularly inspiring was YB Dato’ Hajjah Hanifah Hajar Taib’s emphasis on strengthening cooperation between government agencies and NGO platforms in widening access to health information and enhancing long-term community wellbeing. Her approach highlighted the belief that healthcare awareness must extend beyond institutions and urban centers, reaching families, entrepreneurs, and rural communities throughout Sabah.
Her dedication towards understanding healthcare realities on the ground was further reflected through her visits to rural hospitals and regional healthcare facilities, demonstrating a leadership approach rooted in direct community engagement rather than administrative perspective alone.
"Such efforts reinforce the importance of listening closely to the challenges faced by healthcare providers and local communities in order to create more inclusive and effective health initiatives." added by Adjunct Prof. Jessie Jong Chung Jin (A.S.D.K.)
Although the evening did not specifically explore the topic of smart ageing in depth, the opportunity to engage with a national-level leader whose portfolio continues to contribute significantly towards preventive healthcare, community health access, and long-term wellbeing was both insightful and encouraging.
The evening ultimately stood as a graceful reminder that empowered women, visionary leadership, and collaborative partnerships remain central pillars in building healthier and more resilient communities for the future.
Special appreciation was also extended to IKSNITA and Datuk Hajah Dayang Khatijah Datu Haji Bachtiyal for curating such a thoughtful and meaningful engagement.
