The 36th Sabah Chapter Annual General Meeting 2026 A New Chapter for Sabah’s Tourism Leadership

On the evening of 10 March 2026, leaders and members of Sabah’s tourism fraternity gathered at the elegant Citadines Waterfront Kota Kinabalu for the 36th Sabah Chapter Annual General Meeting, a significant milestone that reflects the continuing evolution of Sabah’s dynamic travel and tourism landscape.

The annual gathering brought together industry stakeholders, partners, and MATTA members in an atmosphere of collaboration and shared purpose. The formal proceedings of the meeting were later followed by a warm iftar dinner, creating a meaningful moment of fellowship as attendees celebrated both professional unity and the spirit of the holy month.

Leadership for the 2026–2029 Term

During the assembly, MATTA President, Mr. Nigel Wong, officially announced the results of the Sabah Chapter Committee election for the 2026–2029 term, marking the beginning of a new leadership chapter for the association in Sabah.

Elected to lead the Sabah Chapter is Mr. Alex Chong of Al Hakim Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd, who assumes the role of Chairman, bringing with him years of experience and industry insight. Supporting him as Deputy Chairman is Mr. Noordin Bin Sabtu of Nurnielamsari Travel Sdn. Bhd, a respected figure within Sabah’s travel sector.

The newly elected committee members will formally assume their responsibilities following the National Annual General Meeting scheduled in June 2026, paving the way for a renewed strategic direction for the chapter.
