DCEO of the Sabah Tourism Board, Humphrey Ginibun, officiated the flag-off ceremony on behalf of the CEO, marking the official commencement of the Overland Pack Expedition convoy.

The Overland Pack Expedition: Sabah–Sarawak Link Road Edition unfolds as a four-day, three-night adventure crafted for passionate explorers and seasoned 4x4 drivers. This remarkable convoy journey travels along one of Malaysia’s most iconic overland routes, weaving through the scenic landscapes and vibrant communities of Lawas and Limbang.

Beyond the thrill of the road, the expedition carries a deeper purpose. It highlights the growing appeal of adventure tourism along the Sabah–Sarawak Link Road while cultivating cultural exchange, camaraderie, and teamwork among the 4x4 community. At its heart lies a commitment to responsible exploration, encouraging participants to embrace sustainable expedition practices that honour nature and respect local communities.

The expedition sets its wheels in motion today, 13 March, and will conclude its remarkable journey with the convoy’s return to Kota Kinabalu on 16 March.

Through initiatives like this, Sabah continues to position itself as a destination where adventure, culture, and meaningful travel experiences converge.
