There are moments when a brand does not merely expand, it arrives.

Beneath the luminous rhythm of Kota Kinabalu, a name once rooted in Penampang now unfolds with international poise. Chunk & Dunk steps forward with its Global Premiere, marking its first expansion into the Philippines, a milestone that feels less like a step outward and more like a natural elevation.

This is not growth alone. This is identity in motion.

Founded by Adam Shamil, the brand’s journey reflects a rare alignment of courage and clarity. From humble beginnings to cross-border recognition, its evolution carries the essence of Sabah, bold, vibrant, and unmistakably authentic. Today, Chunk & Dunk is celebrated not only for its signature croffles, but for cultivating a culture that resonates with a new generation of lifestyle-driven consumers.

At Suria Sabah, the Global Premiere transforms space into spectacle. A refined interplay of red carpet elegance, cultural expression, and high-energy staging creates an immersive celebration that transcends the idea of a typical launch. It becomes a living narrative, one that invites the audience into the brand’s unfolding story.

What stood out most was the cultural dialogue woven into the programme. The stage did not merely entertain, it connected. Through its performances, the evening beautifully bridged Sabah and the Philippines, two cultures in close proximity, yet distinct in identity, now harmonised through celebration.

The presence of Malaysia’s leading host Daphne Iking alongside the vibrant Lulu Latisya brought a magnetic energy that lifted the event into another dimension. Their synergy transformed the stage into something dynamic, engaging, and unforgettable.

Beyond the ceremonial signing, which marked the brand’s international leap, the true essence of the evening was found in its people. Food lovers, KOLs, influencers, media partners, and the public gathered in one shared space, a living testament that Sabah is harmony, and that food remains its most universal language.

Because the most refined kind of success is not measured by scale alone.

It is measured by the ability to bring people together,
to carry culture across borders,
and to do so with elegance, intention, and heart.

A Special timeline of Chunk & Dunk

A Timeline of Taste & Triumph: The Refined Rise of Chunk & Dunk

In the world of modern brands, few journeys unfold with such clarity of vision and elegance of execution as Chunk & Dunk. What now stands as a fast-rising regional name was, just 23 months ago, a humble dream, delicately whisked into reality by Adam Shamil.

This is not merely a timeline.
It is a narrative of precision growth, bold decisions, and a brand that understands momentum as an art form.

2024 | The Genesis of a Sweet Vision

The story begins in Penampang, where the first outlet quietly opened its doors, marking the birth of a concept that would soon ripple across Sabah. What followed was a year of intentional expansion, from ITCC Penampang to Karamunsing, and later Imago Shopping Mall.

Each outlet was not just a location, but a carefully placed signature, introducing a new language of indulgence through croffles and desserts. By the close of the year, over 150,000 croffles and 80,000 shaved ice creations had been served, an early signal that the market was not only receptive, but captivated.

2025 | Acceleration, Recognition, and Regional Presence

If 2024 was the spark, 2025 became the flame.

Chunk & Dunk evolved from a promising local brand into a recognised name within the F&B landscape. The prestigious BrandLaureate Award marked a defining moment, affirming its position as a brand of value, experience, and growing influence.

Expansion continued with strategic precision, Lintas, Sutera Avenue, and Vivacity Megamall in Sarawak. Each new outlet extended the brand’s footprint while maintaining its distinctive identity.

The numbers tell their own story.
Over 2 million croffles served.
Half a million shaved ice creations enjoyed.

Yet beyond the figures lies something more compelling, a brand that has mastered the balance between scalability and soul.

2026 | Crossing Borders, Defining Presence

And then, the turning point.

2026 marks the brand’s first international chapter, with its debut in the Philippines at Eastwood Mall, Quezon City. This milestone is not just expansion, it is elevation. A Sabahan-born brand now stepping confidently into the global arena.

Simultaneously, growth at home continues, with Gaya Street welcoming another outlet, now recognised as the largest Chunk & Dunk location to date.

This dual movement, expanding outward while strengthening inward, reflects a brand operating with both ambition and control.

More Than Growth, A Cultural Statement

What makes this journey remarkable is not simply its speed, but its intention.

Chunk & Dunk has never positioned itself as just a fast food concept. It is a lifestyle expression, one that blends accessibility with identity, flavour with experience, and local roots with global aspirations.

In under two years, it has transformed from a single dessert shop into a cross-border brand, carrying with it the essence of Sabah, warm, vibrant, and unapologetically expressive.
