Borneo Rising: Dabra Takes the Top Spot in Week One - Bring Back RM1000 for "Persembahan Paling Power!"

Borneo Rising (BR) contestant Dabra Sia dominated the stage during the first week of the competition, securing the coveted top position.

Performing “Wicked Game,” originally sung by Chris Isaak, Dabra impressed the judges with an overall score of 78.95% from the permanent judging panel.








Dabra also took home RM1,000 after being selected as the winner of the “Persembahan Paling Power” award, presented by CelcomDigi during the final segment of the show.

Meanwhile, Petrova and Syukri completed the top three, scoring 76.92% and 72.28%, respectively.










The “This Is Me” week also saw three contestants, Faris, Rizzani and Aadel, occupying the bottom positions after receiving the lowest overall scores.

However, the judges decided to save Faris at the last moment. Rizzani and Aadel will now have to fight for their place in Borneo Rising Week Two, facing each other in a battle during the opening segment.





Borneo Rising is judged by three permanent judges: Noh Salleh, Marsha Milan and Shila Amzah.

The competition's final results will be determined through a combination of 80% professional judges' scores and 20% audience votes.



Hosted by Zizan Razak and Sherry Al-Hadad, Borneo Rising runs for eight weeks, from 6 September to 25 October 2026, broadcasting live from ITCC Mall, Penampang, Sabah, every Sunday at 9:00 PM.

The programme airs on Astro Ria (Channel 104) and TV Okey (Channel 146), and is also available for streaming on demand via Astro GO, Sooka and RTMKlik.

It was a very fulfilling and insightful trip to Keningau recently, where the Angin family from Kg. Biah, Sook celebrated an important engagement ceremony. A family member was engaged to someone from outside the Murut community. Shonney Doney, who is of Murut and Dusun heritage, became engaged to a Sino-Kadazan young man from outside the Keningau district. What was truly special is that the Angin family prepared a cultural presentation featuring Siopon, a traditional homemade rice drink kept in jars. The beverage has been passed down for generations and is still practiced today. According to Liza Angin, Shonney’s aunt, the family has been making Siopon for many years, starting with their mother, Villine Lius, who is now 74 years old.
