In the spirit of philanthropy, collaboration, and community empowerment, the PCAKK Fundraising Team recently held a productive and meaningful engagement with Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, represented by its Director of Operations, Mr. Zaim Zakaria.

The gathering served as an opportunity to reaffirm the longstanding relationship between PCAKK and Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, a valued partner whose unwavering generosity and continuous support have played a significant role in advancing the association's charitable initiatives over the years.

PCAKK extends its sincere appreciation to Hyatt Regency Kinabalu for its ongoing commitment towards the upcoming Annual Charity Concert & Dinner 2026, which will feature the internationally acclaimed Australian Bruno Mars Tribute Show. The prestigious fundraising event is scheduled to take place on 19 September 2026 at the iconic Sabah International Convention Centre, bringing together distinguished guests, corporate leaders, philanthropists, and community advocates in support of a meaningful cause.



Adding significance to the occasion were esteemed guests Datuk Edward Yong Oui Fah, Chairman of Kinabalu International Hotel, alongside Datin Mary Yong, whose presence reflected a shared dedication towards fostering impactful community partnerships.

Leading the delegation was Organising Chairperson Dr. Mathan Mohan Rao, accompanied by Advisor Datuk Margaret Lim, Vice Organising Chairperson Elsie Tan, Immediate Past President Ivy Stanislaus, Honorary Treasurer Liza Yong, and Executive Secretary Benzie Richard.

As preparations continue for one of Sabah's most anticipated charitable events of the year, PCAKK remains committed to building meaningful alliances with corporate and community stakeholders. It was a very fulfilling and insightful trip to Keningau recently, where the Angin family from Kg. Biah, Sook celebrated an important engagement ceremony. A family member was engaged to someone from outside the Murut community. Shonney Doney, who is of Murut and Dusun heritage, became engaged to a Sino-Kadazan young man from outside the Keningau district. What was truly special is that the Angin family prepared a cultural presentation featuring Siopon, a traditional homemade rice drink kept in jars. The beverage has been passed down for generations and is still practiced today. According to Liza Angin, Shonney’s aunt, the family has been making Siopon for many years, starting with their mother, Villine Lius, who is now 74 years old.
