A Night of Heritage, Grace & Celebration: Homecoming Dinner Honouring UNK & RTK 2026 Winners with TVSABAH - Host by Upper Palace Dining Group Sabah at E West Restaurant. Official Media Partner Favstyle Magazine | MY KKCity | Writer On-The-Go #FAVwrite

Beneath the elegant ambiance of E-West Restaurant, an evening of culture, prestige, and heartfelt celebration unfolded as distinguished guests gathered to welcome home the remarkable winners of the Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan (UNK) 2026 and Randawi Tavantang Kaamatan (RTK) 2026.

Organised by TV Sabah in collaboration with FAVSTYLE Magazine, the exclusive Homecoming Dinner was more than a gathering. It was a tribute to Sabah's living heritage, bringing together pageant queens, cultural ambassadors, organisers, and supporters for a memorable evening dedicated to honouring excellence, identity, and tradition.

The atmosphere radiated warmth and pride as representatives from various districts reunited following their journeys through one of Sabah's most celebrated cultural platforms. Against a backdrop of fine dining and meaningful conversations, guests reflected on the significance of preserving cultural values while embracing modern aspirations.

The Rise of a New Cultural Ambassador

Among the evening's celebrated guests was Christebell Masius, affectionately known as Casey, the newly crowned Unduk Ngadau Ranau 2026.

At just 22 years old, Casey's journey represents a beautiful blend of destiny and determination. Born in Kg. Tontolob Liwan along the Tambunan-Ranau border, the proud Dusun beauty never imagined that a casual visit to a local Watsons store would become the first chapter of her pageant story.

Spotted by pageant committee members who immediately recognised her potential, Casey entered the competition and went on to capture the Ranau crown on her very first attempt.

Behind her radiant smile stood months of dedication, discipline, and perseverance. Sleepless nights, intensive preparations, and the responsibility of representing Ranau became part of a transformative experience that would forever shape her future.

Today, Casey looks ahead to new opportunities, including collaborations with Sabah Parks and her anticipated ascent of Mount Kinabalu, further cementing her role as a proud representative of Sabah's cultural heritage.

The Final Chapter of a Remarkable Journey

Equally inspiring was the presence of Jeraahfinah Jonis, fondly known as Naano, the representative of Pulau Pinang for Unduk Ngadau 2026.

At 28, Naano embodies elegance refined through experience. Having participated in pageantry since 2019, her journey reflects years of personal growth, resilience, and unwavering cultural pride.

Knowing that 2026 would be her final opportunity to compete, she approached the competition with renewed purpose and confidence. Her efforts earned her the prestigious Most Friendly subsidiary title and a place among the Top 25 finalists from a highly competitive field of 53 contestants.

Beyond the pageant stage, Naano serves as a flight attendant with Malaysia Airlines International, balancing a demanding professional career while continuing to champion her cultural roots.

What distinguishes her most is her ability to communicate fluently in her native language, a treasured skill that reflects the essence of the Unduk Ngadau legacy: preserving identity while inspiring future generations.

Preserving Tradition Through Innovation

The evening also provided an opportunity to hear from Dr. Mary Gambidau, Chairperson of Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2026, who shared insights into the evolving landscape of the prestigious pageant.

Dr. Mary highlighted the introduction of a newly enhanced judging framework designed to elevate transparency, efficiency, and overall contestant evaluation.

For the first time, preliminary assessments were conducted before the grand finale, allowing judges to gain a deeper understanding of each participant beyond the main stage presentation. This innovative approach complemented the final judging process held during the state-level celebration on May 31.

The improvements reflected a commitment to ensuring that the Unduk Ngadau platform continues to evolve while remaining firmly rooted in the cultural values that have defined the competition for generations.

Although the overall champions were unable to attend due to official post-victory engagements across Sabah, Dr. Mary expressed sincere appreciation to the organisers for creating another meaningful platform to introduce the contestants and winners to the wider public.

Celebrating Culture, Community and Legacy

As the evening drew to a close, it became evident that the Homecoming Dinner represented something far greater than a celebration of pageant victories.

It was a celebration of Sabah itself.

A celebration of heritage carried proudly by young women who serve as ambassadors of culture.

A celebration of resilience, unity, and the enduring spirit of Kaamatan.

Chief Editor of FAVSTYLE Magazine, Alfred Allen, described the evening as a heartfelt occasion dedicated to honouring the winners of both Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan and Randawi Tavantang Kaamatan 2026.

Within the elegant setting of E-West Restaurant, surrounded by stories of ambition, achievement, and cultural pride, guests departed with a renewed appreciation for the traditions that continue to shape Sabah's identity.

For one unforgettable evening, heritage and hospitality came together in perfect harmony, creating a celebration worthy of the queens who inspire a new generation while honouring the legacy of those who came before them.
