KOTA KINABALU – In a remarkable celebration of generosity and community spirit, the Palliative Care Association of Kota Kinabalu (PCAKK) will host its Annual Charity Dinner & Show 2026 on 19 September 2026 at the prestigious Sabah International Convention Centre, with an ambitious goal of raising RM300,000 to sustain and expand its home-based palliative care services throughout Sabah.






For more than a quarter of a century, PCAKK has quietly transformed lives by providing compassionate care to patients facing life-limiting illnesses and offering unwavering support to their families during some of life's most challenging moments. The annual fundraising gala represents more than a charitable gathering. It is a powerful commitment to preserving dignity, comfort and quality of life for those in need.




Organising Chairman Dr. Mathan Rao emphasised the significance of the event in ensuring the continuity of PCAKK's vital services. Funds raised will support medical equipment, home-care programmes and patient assistance initiatives that enable individuals to receive care within the comfort of their own homes.




Beyond supporting its ongoing programmes, PCAKK is also pursuing a visionary milestone. According to PCAKK President Dato' Dr. Jaswant Singh, the Association aims to establish a permanent home of its own, creating a lasting foundation from which it can continue serving the Sabah community for generations to come.




Guests attending the evening will be treated to an exquisite eight-course Chinese banquet, complemented by a carefully curated entertainment programme. Opening the night will be acclaimed singer, songwriter and vocal educator Rhowell Rolland alongside Christal Ann Stephen in a special duet performance.

Taking centre stage as the evening's headline attraction is The Australian Bruno Mars Show, a dynamic production that celebrates the music, energy and charisma associated with one of the world's most influential entertainers. Renowned for captivating audiences across Australia, the show promises a vibrant spectacle of music, movement and unforgettable stage presence.






Adding further prestige to the evening, guests will have the opportunity to acquire artworks created by respected local artists, while a special auction featuring a cherished Omega timepiece is expected to attract considerable interest from collectors and philanthropists alike.

It was a very fulfilling and insightful trip to Keningau recently, where the Angin family from Kg. Biah, Sook celebrated an important engagement ceremony. A family member was engaged to someone from outside the Murut community. Shonney Doney, who is of Murut and Dusun heritage, became engaged to a Sino-Kadazan young man from outside the Keningau district. What was truly special is that the Angin family prepared a cultural presentation featuring Siopon, a traditional homemade rice drink kept in jars. The beverage has been passed down for generations and is still practiced today.
