In a world often defined by titles and trajectories, Cozanne Estrella chose something far rarer — a life guided by compassion.
At just 29, this Penampang-born Kadazan woman has stepped away from the structured precision of engineering and into a path shaped by empathy, resilience, and quiet courage. Today, she stands as a key voice within SPCA Selangor, where her work transcends profession and becomes purpose.

Graduating in 2020 at the height of global uncertainty, Cozanne’s journey did not unfold as planned. The world paused — and with it, so did the conventional roadmap she had prepared for. Yet in that stillness, something more profound began to take shape.

A chance encounter in 2023 with Christine Chin, the long-serving chairman of SPCA Selangor, became the pivot point. What began as a simple conversation revealed a depth of compassion that could not be taught — only lived. Within months, Cozanne stepped into the role of Marketing Manager, embracing an entirely new discipline with remarkable poise.

Today, her work extends far beyond campaigns. She curates awareness, shapes conversations, and brings humanity into the public dialogue on animal welfare. Whether guiding schoolchildren through the ethics of care or welcoming visitors into the shelter’s world, her presence carries both warmth and quiet authority.

Her journey has also introduced her to circles of distinction. The Stray Free Selangor initiative, a cornerstone programme of SPCA Selangor, is supported by Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, adding a layer of royal patronage to a cause rooted deeply in compassion.
Yet behind the grace lies undeniable emotional strength. Within the shelter’s limited capacity, difficult decisions must sometimes be made — moments that demand both sensitivity and resolve. Cozanne carries these experiences not as burdens, but as reminders of why her work matters.

The impact is tangible. Since 2003, SPCA Selangor’s spay-neuter programmes have reached over 40,000 animals — a legacy of care that continues to reshape the future of stray populations.
Beyond the shelter walls, her influence expands through education and advocacy. Fundraising initiatives, creative collaborations, and public engagements have elevated the organization’s reach, including the appointment of Chloe Lim as ambassador — a partnership that blends influence with intention.

Together with Christine Chin, they form a triad of purpose-driven leadership, united by a singular vision — a society where compassion is not an afterthought, but a standard.
Cozanne’s story is not one of departure from engineering, but of reconstruction — building something far more enduring than structures. She is shaping understanding, nurturing empathy, and giving voice to those who cannot speak.

A proud Sabahan in the nation’s capital, she embodies a rare elegance — one that is not worn, but lived.
And in that quiet, steadfast devotion, she reminds us: true success is not always measured by what we achieve, but by what we choose to care for.
