Walking with Purpose This Chinese New Year: RCKK’s Inspiring EPN Walk
While most were still immersed in festive reunions and joyful gatherings, one community chose to celebrate in motion. Not with louder firecrackers, but with purposeful footsteps.
Even in the heart of Chinese New Year celebrations, advocacy for End Polio Now continued with unwavering strength. Last Sunday morning unfolded into a powerful show of unity as the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu hosted a meaningful EPN Walk.
Held at the scenic Taman Tun Fuad Stephens Park, the morning atmosphere carried more than fresh air. It carried conviction.
More than 80 Rotarians, alongside Interactors from St. Francis Convent School and La Salle Secondary School, together with families and friends, gathered in solidarity. United in purple, united in purpose, united in hope.
Each step symbolised Rotary’s global commitment to eradicating poliovirus once and for all. In a season that celebrates prosperity and togetherness, RCKK beautifully demonstrated that the most meaningful celebrations are those that uplift communities and protect future generations.
The coordination, energy, and fellowship were palpable throughout the morning. Laughter intertwined with advocacy. Festive spirit merged seamlessly with service. It was a reminder that commitment to humanity does not pause for holidays.
A heartfelt congratulations to RCKK for mobilizing such strong participation and sustaining the momentum of this critical global campaign. Under the continued leadership of President Jack Lo , the club remains steadfast in embodying “Service Above Self” beyond seasons and celebrations.
As we usher in the new year, may we continue walking together in health, harmony, and humanitarian purpose.
Gong Xi Fa Cai to all.
