Horizon Hotel Kota Kinabalu Welcomes Ramadhan with a Heartwarming Bubur Lambuk Drive

The sacred month of Ramadhan began on a beautifully generous note at Horizon Hotel Kota Kinabalu, where compassion was served warm and ladled with purpose.

In conjunction with the first day of the holy month, the hotel marked the occasion through its annual Corporate Social Responsibility initiative by distributing 300 containers of Bubur Lambuk to pedestrians and motorists passing by the hotel. The atmosphere along the street transformed into a moment of shared smiles and gratitude, as the comforting aroma of the traditional porridge signaled not just nourishment, but unity.

Leading from the front was General Manager Madam Stella Chong, who joined hotel associates in personally handing out the thoughtfully prepared meals. Behind the scenes, the hotel’s dedicated Kitchen Team, together with the Food and Beverage Team, began their day early to prepare the Bubur Lambuk using Horizon’s own in-house recipe, a carefully balanced blend of spices and ingredients synonymous with the warmth of breaking fast.

“We are delighted to bring smiles to the public and strengthen the relationship between the local community and our hotel associates, which is the main objective of this CSR initiative,” shared Madam Stella. “This is an annual event that we will continue due to its positive reception, and we hope it continues to bring joy to the recipients.”

More than a drive-thru distribution, the initiative reflects Horizon Hotel’s ongoing commitment to meaningful community engagement. During Ramadhan, when reflection and generosity take centre stage, this simple yet heartfelt gesture becomes a reminder that hospitality extends far beyond the lobby.

At Horizon Hotel Kota Kinabalu, Ramadhan is not only observed. It is shared.
