Putrajaya, 24 February 2026 – In an atmosphere defined by vision and velocity, an exclusive high-level discussion was convened between YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and Malaysia’s leading hotel entrepreneurs to fortify strategic alliances in preparation for Visit Malaysia 2026.

This pivotal engagement underscores a unified national commitment to elevate Malaysia’s global tourism stature as the nation prepares to welcome the world once again.

  • YBrs. Encik Mohd Akbal Setia, Head of Secretariat, VM2026

Their collective presence reflected more than protocol. It signaled momentum.

Elevating Malaysia’s Hospitality Readiness

The session focused on three strategic pillars:

✦ Strengthening Government–Industry Synergy

A collaborative framework between policymakers and hotel operators to ensure seamless execution of tourism initiatives nationwide.

✦ Alignment of Major Tourism Events

Coordinated planning and synchronization of flagship tourism events to maximize international visibility and impact.

✦ Hospitality Excellence & Preparedness

Enhancing operational readiness across Malaysia’s hospitality landscape to welcome a projected surge of global travelers with refined service standards and cultural authenticity.

The Vision: 47 Million Global Arrivals

With an ambitious target of attracting 47 million international visitors, VM2026 is positioned not merely as a campaign, but as a national economic catalyst. The initiative aims to stimulate inclusive growth, empowering local communities while reinforcing Malaysia’s brand as a premier destination of surreal experiences and cultural richness.

This ongoing collaboration between the Ministry and the hotel industry forms the architectural blueprint of that ambition.

Malaysia is not simply preparing for visitors.
It is preparing to impress them.
