Borneo’s Elvis Is Coming to Sabah’s Carers Local performer Dr Rayner Pailus headlines the launch of a new NGO supporting those who care for Sabah’s ageing population.
Dr Rayner Pailus, popularly described as “Borneo’s Elvis,” will headline the evening with a selection of classic hits.
Among the songs mentioned is “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
Rayner says his intention is to bring fun, joy and energy to the audience while helping raise funds for the cause. He hopes guests will be able to smile, dance and sing along during the evening.
Beyond the Stage
Dr Rayner Pailus brings an unusual combination of professional and artistic identities. By day, he is described as a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and specialized Data Scientist at Universiti Malaysia Sabah. By night, he transforms into the rhinestone-clad performer known as Borneo’s Elvis.
Live Musical Support
Rayner will be accompanied by Evergreen Unlimited Country Band, who recently headlined Asia’s Country Music Festival - Sinawan in Sarawak.
The Purpose Behind PSPS
The evening is not simply an entertainment event. It is designed to introduce PSPS and highlight the importance of supporting family members, caregivers and others involved in caring for Sabah’s ageing population.
According to Maria Kinson, President of PSPS, the gala dinner provides an opportunity to bring together people already contributing to Sabah in different ways and begin building broader support for carers.
Kinson also describes the event as the first occasion in which Sabah’s entertainment community and care sector have shared a stage in this manner, with hopes that similar initiatives will follow.
