IQRAM SUHAIDY - The Art of Elegance, Experimental Design & Contemporary Bornean Fashion
At just 27, Sabahan fashion designer Iqram Suhaidy is steadily shaping his creative identity through an evolving appreciation for craftsmanship, contemporary aesthetics and the art of fashion expression. Hailing from Putatan, Sabah, Iqram represents a new generation of designers who are unafraid to explore beyond conventional boundaries while embracing the technical artistry behind every creation.
A Fashion Design graduate from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Iqram brings more than seven years of industry experience to his creative practice. His professional journey reflects a strong foundation in garment construction, refined dressmaking techniques and a passion for translating imaginative concepts into wearable works of art.
In 2022, he established his independent fashion label, Eiqram-Eddie, marking an important milestone in his journey as an emerging designer. The label serves as a platform for his creative vision, particularly in evening gowns, bespoke garments and occasion wear, where precision, silhouette and thoughtful detailing come together to create distinctive pieces.
Beyond traditional dressmaking, Iqram's creative language extends into experimental and avant-garde fashion. He is drawn to unconventional silhouettes, contemporary design interpretations and innovative construction techniques. His interest in cultural reinterpretation also reflects a desire to explore how heritage, identity and modern aesthetics can coexist through fashion.
Behind every design is a strong technical understanding of the craft. From pattern drafting and fabric selection to advanced sewing, garment fitting and bespoke production, Iqram approaches each project with an appreciation for detail and construction. His ability to develop a design from its initial concept to a finished garment forms an essential part of his creative signature.
His growing portfolio includes several notable milestones. In 2022, Iqram secured Second Place in Sabah Next Top Designer, an achievement that further encouraged his development within the local fashion scene. In 2026, he expanded his creative involvement by designing outfits for Unduk Ngadau contestants, contributing his design perspective to one of Sabah's most celebrated cultural platforms.
His professional journey has also brought opportunities to collaborate with recognised personalities, including Dabra Sia, Dato' Francis Landong and Maldini Sydney. In the same year, he worked with a publication house under Chanteek Borneo for one event in 2026, further strengthening his involvement in fashion, modelling and creative collaborations.
Currently affiliated with Chanteek Borneo, Iqram continues to participate in fashion and modelling-related initiatives while developing the creative direction of Eiqram-Eddie. These experiences provide opportunities to explore new aesthetics, expand his professional network and further establish his presence within Sabah's evolving fashion industry.
For Iqram Suhaidy, fashion is more than the creation of beautiful garments. It is an ongoing exploration of form, craftsmanship, individuality and artistic expression. With a growing body of work and a willingness to challenge conventional design perspectives, he represents an emerging creative voice contributing to the next chapter of Sabah's fashion landscape.
His journey is still unfolding, and every creation offers another opportunity to redefine the possibilities of contemporary fashion.
